This was a batch of 13 diesel-electrics built by
GE Transportation of Pennsylvania (10) and
A. Goninan & Co. of NSW (3) between 1952 and 1956, the first mainline diesels bought by QR: Co-Co type with a 1100 hp (820 kW) Cooper Bessemer FVL12T prime mover. Final withdrawal was in 1987.
