NZ still ranks second in average net worth per adult, according to Credit Suisse


Exchange rates with the USD have changed dramatically in the past 12 months, affecting particularly adversely A/NZ and Canada. But, according to Credit Suisse's latest Global Wealth Report the top 10 countries are, in USD:

1, Switzerland $567,000
2. NZ $400,800
3. Australia $364,000
4. USA $353,000
5. Norway $321,400
6. UK $320,400
7. Sweden $311,400
8. Singapore $269,400
9. France $262,100
10. Belgium $259,400

In Switzerland the distribution is highly skewed towards the rich; in terms of median (half are above, half are below) net worth, NZ ranks first and Australia second.  The report notes that in the USA, 28% of adults have a net worth of less than $10,000 -- in Australia it is only 7%.
