Lucerne trams, Switzerland

traffic on the Seebrücke (lake bridge)

The Lucerne tram system consisted of 2 lines, approximately 11 km in length in metre gauge, and lasted from 1899 to 1961 when it was replaced by trolleybuses  -- these had first appeared in 1941.  A total of 57 tramcars were acquired between 1899 and 1947.
