catching a zephyr off Gibraltar

A painting by contemporary American artist Patrick O'Brien entitled "Catching a Zephyr - USS Constitution off Gibraltar, 1804" -- The USS Constitution and an American Navy schooner are becalmed off Gibraltar during the Barbary Wars in 1804. In an attempt to catch the smallest breath of wind, the captain has almost all the canvas up, with the studdingsails hanging far out off the sides of the hull.
